Art Quilt "Village"
This small wall quilt ( 44 cm. x 33 cm.) shows a village of little houses in warm golden brown tones. Lit windows gleam against the mellow dark background.
An original one-off batik drawing, coloured with fibre-reactive cotton dyes and quilted to give a three-dimensional effect.
A hanging sleeve is sewn to the back, a slender rod (supplied) can be threaded through to hang the quilt.
A wall quilt is lighter to hang than a framed picture and will not break if it falls down in an earthquake! The dyes are wash-fast and the piece can be hand washed if necessary.
The image is one of contentment, community, warmth and cosiness. There are small cracks and imperfections because of the individual process of creation.
