Decorative and symbolic these carved rimu Huia feathers represent both beauty and sorrow for what is lost. The Huia bird of New Zealand was once a sacred creature revered by Maori but was pushed to extinction by human activity.
These pieces have been individually hand crafted from salvaged rimu timber diverted from landfill. They are light weight and easy to hang and post. Each piece is fitted with a D-ring for easy hanging, painted in durable acrylic paint and are suitable for indoors only.
The large feather measures 40 x 8 x 1cm, the two smaller feathers each measure 32 X 7 x 1cm.
