This is a drypoint created by drawing onto a perspex sheet with a sharp metal tool. I then ink the sheet and roll it through my intaglio fine art printmaking press. For 'kowhai' I have repeated this process 8 times, each time I ink the 'plate' (sheet) and wipe away the excess ink so each print is different from the last. These are very limited print runs. Each work is marked with an edition number, signed and dated and I have used high quality Fabriano printmaking paper. As I ink up the 'plate' each time little scratches appear in the background, all part of individually printing each artwork. Each work is carefully wrapped and packaged with card to avoid bending in the post. I have photographed 1-4/8 with the 4th photograph showing the tool I used and the surface I 'drew' into. I have cut these works to fit nicely inside a ready made frame with a mat, 8 x 10" to fit a 6 x 8" print. The size of the artwork is 14cm wide by 19cm high leaving room for the edition number and signature and the paper size is 20cm x 25cm.
