Baneberry earrings: green leaves & white berries

Lifelike green leaves and bright white miracle beads are paired to imitate baneberries.
The green leaves are made of transparent acrylic, and have detailed veining patterns. The 'berries' are wire-wrapped, and suspended with the leaves on elegantly arched, bronze-coloured ear wires.

Baneberry plants (actaea pachypoda) - or 'doll's eyes' - grow in forests, and produce clusters of tiny white flowers in Spring. The berries appear in Summer, and are about 1cm wide. They are white with black stigma scars, like little boggly eyes. Baneberry plants - and especially the berries - are poisonous to humans, hence their name; but not to birds, which distribute the seeds.

Miracle beads are also called 'wonder beads'. They have an acrylic core with a silver mirror-plate finish, which is coated with several layers of coloured lacquer. In effect, the bead is a spherical mirror, reflecting its outer surface, creating the illusion of a bead within a bead.
This effect can only be seen in certain light. The rest of the time the bead simply appears to glow with colour - in this case, a bright silvery white.

The earrings measure 57mm from top to bottom, while the leaves are 23mm long and 24mm across at their widest point. They are lightweight and easy to wear, and the kidney-shaped ear wires are nickel free, so most sensitive ears should be fine wearing these.
