Handmade glass unicorn horns hang from antiqued-brass coloured ear-hooks.

These beautiful alicorn charms are of uncertain age, but are possibly vintage (i.e. at least 30 years old), and the brass wire at their tops has aged and developed a nice patina. The word 'alicorn' is often used nowadays to denote a horselike fantasy creature that has both wings and a single horn — i.e. a horned pegasus or winged unicorn; however, readers of mythology know that 'alicorn' was originally the technical term for a unicorn's horn.

The horns are handmade, so each one is slightly different. The brass wire loops at their tops also vary in length and show varying degrees of patina. I find these variations quite charming, as they add to the organic, old-fashioned look of the earrings.

The clear horns run larger in size, and the apricot horns are the smallest. The horns measure between 20mm and 30mm long (not including the wire loops at their tops), and between 7mm and 10mm wide at the widest part of the horn. Total earring length, including hook, is between 44mm and 59mm. Within each pair, I have matched the alicorns as closely as possible in size and shape. If you have a preference for a longer or shorter pair, let me know in the 'notes for silverlight' field that will appear when you check out of Felt, along with your colour choice, and I'll send you the longest or shortest pair that I have in stock.
The ear hooks are without nickel.

Remember to leave your choice of colour — clear, brown, or apricot — and your length preference if you have one, in the 'notes for silverlight' field that will appear when you check out of Felt.
