Snow: a glittering memory-wire wrap bracelet in pearly and sparkly whites – one of a kind

Gleaming white, clear and black beads in a variety of finishes adorn this wrap-around bracelet.

The beads include:
smooth white glass rounds;
white cat’s-eye beads (these are made of fibreoptic glass, so there is a band of light that shifts across the bead);
clear, semi hand-cut crystal beads;
tiny silver-coloured beads;
larger silver-plated beads;
small white and clear glass beads, some with a rainbow-like ‘aurora borealis’ finish;
and many white, faceted, firepolished, Czech glass beads in a variety of finishes, from pearly to milky to opaque to crystal clear. Czech glass is famous worldwide for its high quality. Firepolishing is a technique whereby the beads are 'polished' by subjecting them to a very hot flame, creating a bright, shiny surface. Firepolished glass flashes and sparkles almost like crystal.
Also in the mix are semiprecious stone beads of snow quartz and snowflake obsidian.
Quartz is the second most common mineral on earth, and it has been used for jewellery and carvings since antiquity. Pure quartz is clear and transparent, but quartz also occurs in a huge variety of colours, which are caused by various inclusions in the mineral. Some types of quartz - such as amethyst and citrine - are regarded as semiprecious stones. Quartz comes in an extraordinary variety of colours and patterns, which are typically given descriptive names. Thus, ‘snow quartz’ is slightly translucent, snowy white, with the occasional black speck or streak.
Snowflake obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass. The white 'snowflake' spots are inclusions of radially clustered crystals of the mineral cristobalite.

The beads are threaded onto silver plated, stainless steel memory wire. Memory wire is very strong and will hold its shape even under great stress – hence the name: the wire 'remembers' its shape. To wear this beauty, simply wrap it around your wrist. It will stay there until you unwrap it – no clasp necessary.

This memory-wire bracelet has an inside diameter of approximately 50mm, and will comfortably fit a 16-17cm wrist. It is designed to wrap six times, giving the appearance of six strands of beads around the wrist. This memory wire bracelet can be made to sit further up on the wrist, like a cuff bracelet, or it can be worn looser and low on the wrist. The slimmer your wrist, the looser the fit will be.
