I am donating the items in this listing to the Felt Community's Fundraising initiative FeltAid for Christchurch - this means that 100% of the item purchase price will be donated the Red Cross Canterbury Earthquake Appeal - that's right - ALL. OF. IT. So pretty much it's a win-win sitch for you - you get to treat yourself AND help out Christchurch (Christchurch is my hometown so it's a win for me too).

Ami Ana has designed this "Bookie" visor specifically for FeltAid, so naturally it features Canterbury colours RED and BLACK. The visor body is entirely Black and features a contrasting Deep Red Koru crocheted into either the band at the front or on the brim (your choice) - you may also choose to have more than one koru crocheted into your visor. The koru is something that I see as not only quintessentially New Zealand but also a particularly significant and appropriate symbol in regards to Christchurch, being representative of new life.

The double yarn (two strands crocheted together) design of this visor makes for a soft, springy, snug texture and helps this smooth lookin' visor keep its shape. Its brim is cleverly crocheted in such a way that it naturally juts out without the aid of pesky petersham making for easy cleaning and care. And of course Acrylic yarn is a handy alternative for those with Wool allergies. Also we're talking possibilities for multi-season wear here people! - funky sunvisor for the Spring/Summer months and a cosy stylin' ear-warmer/muff with brim for the cooler Autumn/Winter months. When I had designed and made these visors it just so reminded me of the cool, level headed, street-wise style of a bookie that I decided to dub my visor "The Bookie" - and its unisex to boot!

This visor is also available made to order.
