Designed as a gift for someone undergoing cancer treatment.
A light-hearted reminder to take a break when you need one, and to ask friends and family for help when required.
This was inspired by my recent chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer – there were many times when I needed to ‘play the cancer card’ in order to escape from some task or outing that I just couldn’t face.
Inside are a list of situations where the holder of it might want to ‘play the cancer card’ – eg. when you don’t want visitors, or when you need someone to bring you a cup of tea in bed. It also contains instructions for use - pull out the card when you need a break from being awesome, cry if it helps, and don’t feel bad because you have friends who want to help.
FUNDRAISER: 50c from each of these cards sold will be donated to the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation and the NZ Cancer Society.
PRICES: $4.50 per card, or $3.50 each if you buy 5 or more.
FREIGHT: Within NZ is $2.50 for 1 to 4 cards (sent in an envelope, no padding) or $6.60 for 5 to 50 cards (courier), add $3.50 if RD. Pickup from New Lynn in Auckland is free. Get in touch if you have queries about international freight.
