Watercolour – Cass Basin Afternoon light

An original watercolour by a Christchurch artist. Taken from a photograph by the artist while driving through Cass Basin on the way to Arthurs Pass in the late afternoon. The contrast between the darker pines and the lighter coloured trees was quite striking.
Painted on good quality paper using artist grade watercolour paints. The painting is mounted with a white matt, behind glass in a light coloured wooden frame measuring 37.5cm by 30cm. The frame has a stand on the back allowing it to sit on a desk or shelf.

Every attempt has been made to represent the colours in the painting as accurately as possible but be aware that there can be differences in colour between the actual painting and the colours represented on the screen of the devise it is being viewed on.

The first of the photos is taken of the painting after it was framed. The 2nd was taken before it was framed.
