Large Deer Antler Eagle Ray Pendant by Don Campbell
A one of a kind large eagle ray pendant hand carved in deer antler by New Zealand carver Don Campbell.
This stunning piece is a fully formed 3D wearable sculpture.
The eagle ray retains much of the original textures and colours of the deer antler giving it very unique and almost antique look.
It includes an adjustable plaited cord, a traditional woven presentation bag and a display stand made from the original deer antler crown from which the piece was carved.
You can select the cord colour, black or natural/tan
The eagle ray is s 65mm long (2.6 Inches) and the antler crown display base is 95mm long (3.75 Inches)
The Ray is respected as a powerful protector of the deep. Its unusual shape and the way it seems to glide out of the blackness gives it a very spiritual power, which it is in some areas believed to allow it to move between the mortal and spiritual realms at will.
This piece will be removed from the gallery permanently when sold.
Carved from domestic farmed red deer antler.
Species = Cervus elaphus scoticus
The large male deer or "stags" naturally drop their antlers at the end of the mating season every year and grow a new set the following year.
The material used for this carving is from these fallen antlers which means no animal has been harmed to obtain the materials for this carving.
