Folk Flower II linocut print hand printed on Japanese washi paper.
This is an original design hand carved on a linoleum plate and printed manually with a Japanese barren (not with a press).
The paper is 19 cm x 25 cm approximately, and the impression design is 10 cm x 15 cm approx. This allows you to cut the paper to a smaller size if needed.
The ink used is Charbonnel oil based washable black ink. The Japanese washi paper used is Awagami UNRYU paper, which has the gorgeous texture of the swirling fibres. It's very thin (70 gsm) but very strong, and its ingredients are 90% Kozo and 10% wood pulp.
This is an Open Edition of 10 and its title is Folk Flower II. All prints are signed with HB pencil right bellow the printed image with the type of editioning and print number, the title and my name.
In the photos the materials and tools used, so you know how I work. However, the ad is just for the purchase of the print, which I carefully pack in a clear plastic bag with 600 gsm white cardstock, to keep it flat and send it to you safely as a NZ post letter.
I'm very thorough and I always try to make all the impressions in a series as identical as possible, but the nature of this technique allows for every individual print to be a unique piece of artwork. Bare in mind that the print you see in the photo may not be exactly identical as the one you receive even though they belong to the same batch. From every printing session, I select only the best prints for selling, so the best quality is assured, and only those belong to the edition.
I don't accept returns or replacements as this is hand printed and every individual print is unique. I'll always do everything I can to ensure the artwork arrives to you in perfect condition and as soon as possible.
