Pastel rainbow circle rug

For those rainbow lovers who prefer something a little more subdued, here is the pastel rainbow rug for you! This is made of several different sheets I found which serendipitously were all in the same shade range. As I was sorting the material I had, this sort of arranged itself for me. It was just meant to be!

This rug is about 105cm diameter. Crochet makes the rug very forgiving. It can be pulled and stretched into position. It can be thrown into the washing machine if it gets dirty, since it is made of well washed bed-linen. Gently pull it into a circle over the washing line and it will be back to its usual shape, with a few tweaks and pulls once completely dry.

All of my rugs are hand-made by me while I sit with my family as they play. Any pieces that are not used in making the rugs are saved as soft, fluffy fill for cushions, or harder fill for toys! I want to reduce our impact on our world by reusing whatever we can.

I began making rag rugs to cover our own floors when I was given a huge stash of fabric that was not useful for anything else. I joined the small pieces together in rainbow colour range, added it to old bed-linen and my new favourite occupation was born.
