Botanically Dyed Cotton Scarf
This light muslin scarf has been botanically dyed using eco printing techniques. It features Eucalyptus leaves and Coreopsis flowers with an iron mordant. Measurements are approx 30 x 150 cm.
The process - I choose leaves & flowers from our whenua- often Marigold & Coreopsis (to create yellows) Eucalyptus, Feijoa! Grisellenia & Blackberry. An iron mordant is often used, created from rusted pieces of an old truck left and forgotten in a bush area on our property. Each Item created changes with the seasons and is reflective of local landscapes.
Fabric of this nature is best washed in PH neutral detergent, or gently handwashed and line dried in the shade.
