Photo Block: Butterfly Wing

A bold image of a kahukōwhai (yellow admiral) butterfly wing. Kahukōwhai are native to Aotearoa and they love basking in the late evening sun here in our rural Waitaki garden. With the sun behind the butterfly, I was able to utilise backlighting to bring out the glowing yellow and orange colours in its wings.

This is a photographic print on a wooden mount, measuring 10x15cm, with a 2.5cm depth and black edges. A stand is included (pictured) but the photo block can also be displayed freestanding.
