Hand Painted Wooden Kererū with Kowhai Flower Necklace
A beautiful laser cut NZ wood pigeon wearing a kowhai necklace, hand painted with a tiny paintbrush and finished with a non-toxic protective varnish. It has been painted with a turquoise to purple gradient to express the kererū's naturally beautiful colouring. It hangs from a fine, beaded antique brass chain.
These are hand painted wearable artworks of my own design, handmade in Christchurch.
Measurements:
Kererū: 5.4cm tall x 4.3cm wide x 4mm thick.
Chain: 44cm in length, designed to sit on the chest on a small to average sized woman. The chain links are 1.3mm thick, and the beads measure 1mm x 2mm.
Materials:
Kererū: High quality hoop pine plywood, Resene paint and Voodoo Molly Vintage Clearcoat waterbased urethane.
Chain and lobster clasp: Antique brass (nickel and lead free).
Please note that each piece I make varies very slightly so it may differ a little from the one in the photos. This is the nature of handmade items :)
