This piece was inspired by religious and surreal themes focussing on textures and painted metallic effects. Capturing a lonely Lucifer in a state of bordom, longing, sadness and indifference (he has been around for a long time!) He is both handsome and terrifying - "a creature of desire and nightmares" (a viewer's comment).
Karen Wilde is a mixed-medium sculptor based in Auckland, New Zealand. Wilde’s artworks explore the connections between nature, ecology and human emotion.
