A small one of a kind tabletop sculpture hand carved in Oamaru Stone by New Zealand carver Don Campbell.

This piece is a contemporary style that speaks of a love for nature with a hint of a leaf form that pieces the stone transitioning from the clean soft form on the front through to the rough raw textures of the unworked stone on the back.
It represents a balance and connection between new life and ancient stone, old and new, soft and hard, the beauty of a soft clean form and the harshness of rough, raw stone.

It is 110mm tall (4.3 Inches)

Oamaru Stone is a natural limestone found in the Oamaru district in the South Island of New Zealand.
It is a living stone with beautiful textures created by the soft stone full of bits shell and fossils.
It is many millions of years old and from a time before New Zealand or "Aotearoa" rose from the sea floor as the continental plates clashed and buckled pushing the seafloor up and creating the mountains of New Zealand.

This is a one of a kind piece so it will be removed from the gallery permanently when sold.
