Purple morning night rug

If you are anything like me, mornings take a while to get used to. There is a Bible verse that says “if you greet your neighbour loudly in the morning, he will consider it a curse.” (Prov) and so I prefer a gentle morning greeting. If you identify with this, I have the rug for you! It will silently wish you good morning without even requiring a response! It is multi-talented so it can also wish you good night when you go to bed.*
*Results may vary if the rug is turned the wrong way, do not be alarmed, it is simple user error and can be fixed be repositioning the rug.

This rug is 90cm diameter and about 1cm in depth. Crochet makes the rug very forgiving. It can be pulled and stretched into position. It can be thrown into the washing machine if it gets dirty, since it is made of well washed bed-linen. Gently pull it into a circle over the washing line and it will be back to its usual shape, with a few tweaks and pulls once completely dry.

All of my rugs are hand-made by me while I sit with my family as they play. Any pieces that are not used in making the rugs are saved as soft, fluffy fill for cushions, or harder fill for toys! I want to reduce our impact on our world by reusing whatever we can.

I began making rag rugs to cover our own floors when I was given a huge stash of fabric that was not useful for anything else. I joined the small pieces together in rainbow colour range, added it to old bed-linen and my new favourite occupation was born.
