Sixpence Huia Slice Earrings

Huia Slice Earrings.

I've used 3 sixpence coins to create each earring.

I've hand swan a slice from each coin, with the middle slice retaining it's edges. The 2 end slices have been sawn to match the middle slices edges, then all soldered together.

Hard solder has been used for strength, these earrings are not only strong, but lovely and light to wear.

A small amount of oxide from soldering has been kept to pop the details, sterling ring added and then polished. Just love the effect, total length including sterling silver hooks 6.7cm.

These will rarely need cleaning, when they do use a soft cloth and silver polish.

Like many pieces I create out of vintage items, they may carry signs of a previous well loved life, which makes each piece perfectly imperfect.

These gorgeous earrings will come in a gift box, that I have crafted from 80% upcycled materials.
