Handstitched Garden Snuffle Mat

This garden inspired snuffle mat has been created with a variety of snuffle surfaces...from pleats to petals...so lots of different places to hide treats. Suitable for not just dogs, but cats and rats too...any small animal that likes to explore. The garden pieces are mostly handstitched onto the fleece base, which has a velcroed opening if you want to place a tile (or similar) inside to weight the piece down.

Snuffle mats encourage your pets to use their nose which gives them great enjoyment. Start by placing treats or kibble on the top of the mat as you train them to use the mat and slowly work the food down into the mat so they have to sniff and find it. Works great as a slow feeder too. If they go to pick it up and shake it or chew it, then remove it. It can require training for these types of dogs.
