Handmade suncatcher using the Tiffany (copperfoil) method, finished with copper patina.
Pressed miro leaf in clear glass, with a secure hanging loop.
Measures 7cm in length, and 7cm in width. Total length when hanging is 21cm with copper chain.
Packaged with recycled materials to avoid generating unnecessary waste! Can be shipped within NZ and worldwide. Courier is used to ensure your purchase arrives intact.
The inspiration:
The Detritus Collection is an exploration of the forest floor of native forests in Aotearoa. Each piece is hand picked and cleaned, then pressed between two sheets of reclaimed glass. Miro is a podocarp; it produces fleshy red seeds that smell like turpentine, which are important food sources for kererū, kākā and kōkako.
Care:
- Made with materials that contain lead. The risk is minimal, but as a precaution wash hands after handling to avoid ingesting particles.
- Best kept inside for longevity.
