WW ll Puttee watercolour sketchbook - hand felted

This WW ll woolen puttee (leg wrap) comes with its own stories, into which you can add yours.

Sourced from a militaria dealer this puttee has a label that reads Lal Imli 1941.
Lal Imli - one of the oldest working mills of Kanpur (India). During WW ll it worked to fulfil the requirements of the British Armed Forces.

More than 6 hours of hand needle felting (single needle) have adorned the puttee with poppies, in rememberance.

9 signatures of Fabriano Artistico cold press Traditional white 100% cotton 300gsm watercolour paper have been hand sewn into the puttee.
Hand cut from full sheets - deckle edges.
A total of 72 pages 38cm x 10cm. Or can be opened to a double spread for painting.

The thread used is vintage W.Barbour & sons, Lisburn, Ireland. Flax Twist 6 cord, No.50, deep red.

The closed book is approx 40cm x 11cm

$100 of the purchase price is being donated to Warkworth, Auckland, RSA (The Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association).
