'Pohutukawa in Bloom' A4 Art Print
The story behind the artwork
I really love the colours of the leaves and flower of the Pohutukawa. If you study the flowers, there are so many hues of reds and pinks that give this flowers its beautiful appearance. I wanted to replicate the depth of the colours in the flowers using softer pinky reds that were masked with masking fluid and painted over with richer reds that remained after the mask was removed.
