Vintage Hors D’Oeuvres Serving Tray
Beautiful Vintage Hors D’Oeuvres Serving Tray brought to life after being rescued from an old villa previously owned by Palmerston North Hospital (Mid-Central DHB) before being sold to a developer and demolished.
Originally made by Sovereign Woodworkers Ltd in Whanganui sometime in the 1960’s or 1970’s, this Vintage Hors D’Oeuvres Serving Tray still has its original labels on the underside! Made from native New Zealand timbers in the following order (from centre)- Taraire - Totara - Matai - Totara - Tawa - Kahikatea - Rimu - Kahikatea - Rewarewa - Matai - Rewarewa - Taraire.
The tray was carefully sanded to remove the original lacquer which was cracked and peeling, then re-sealed using Resene Qristal Clear Polyurethane making it food-safe.
