Symbols and associations behind 'Web of Life':
The symbiotic relationship we share with nature and all life-forms; hope; the feminine; new life; family (the love that binds; the blood and life-force that connects and flows; the burdens that weigh; emotional ties - positive and otherwise); healing; love (and the enduring power of love); maternal; becoming; the fragile and ephemeral nature of life; spiritual; soul; the authentic truth; the connectedness of everything (including between the living and those who have passed); mythical; other-worldliness;; the value of myth and story and shared wisdom (in whatever form these might take - and how these interweave through and connect our lives, families and cultures - past, present and future); heritage / legacy / tradition / our connectedness to our past and our future (physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually); creativity / ideas forming and connecting and growing and reproducing.

More about the original artwork:
This cyanotype was made by applying a light-sensitive 'iron salt' solution to watercolour paper, allowing it to dry and then arranging a selection of found natural objects on the paper's surface, before placing it in the sunshine to allow the 'magic' to happen. Any surface of the paper exposed to the sunlight was transformed into the beautiful shade of 'blue' you see here, hence the name "cyan-o-type". Cyanotype is one of the oldest forms of the photographic printing process.
