KOWHAI VINTAGE COIN EARRINGS

Kowhai are in full bloom, and what better way to capture the beauty of these flowers than from the Kowhai on vintage coins.
I have taken New Zealand 2 cent vintage coins which are minted from bronze, and painstakingly cut around the kowhai with a jewellery saw.
The natural patina was lost during cleaning, so I added another patina to bring out the intricate detail of the design.
A sterling ring has been added, total length including sterling silver hooks 3.7cm.
If you like the aged look, just leave to oxidize naturally, or use a soft cloth and some silver polish if you want to maintain the bright bronze shine.
**Currently posting twice a week**
Like many pieces I create out of vintage items, they carry signs of a previous well loved life, which makes each piece perfectly imperfect.
Do not wear while swimming, soaking or showering, or spray with perfume etc.
These gorgeous earrings will come in a gift box, that I have crafted from 80% upcycled materials.
