Handmade suncatcher using the Tiffany (copperfoil) method, framed with lead came.
Port Hills, Ōtautahi/Christchurch landscape in mixed tussocky yellows, deep green, gravelly grey and wispy sky blue glass, with one secure hanging loops.
Measures 9cm in length, and 9cm in width. Total length when hanging is 22cm with black ribbon.
*Please note (disclaimer): While all glass can contain flaws that are not necessarily cracks, the green glass contains flaws that may be hairline cracks. The piece is priced low because of this. It should not impact structurally on the piece as it is well-held together with the lead came.
Packaged with recycled materials to avoid generating unnecessary waste! Can be shipped within NZ and worldwide.
The inspiration:
My local hills offer a refuge from city existence, and a place to revel in the natural world. This particular landscape represents the series of sometimes rolling, sometimes rocky peaks along the crater rim, along with the tracts of regenerating bush within lower valleys.
Care:
- Made with materials that contain lead. The risk is minimal, but as a precaution wash hands after handling to avoid ingesting particles.
- Best kept inside for longevity.
