Chalcedony 925 Silver Earrings

The vivid colour of these Blue Chalcedony gemstones evokes the bright summer skies and sparkling waters of a Mediterranean paradise. I created these delightful earrings using faceted 3mm Blue Chalcedony crystals, and 925 Sterling silver wire hoops, rings and earring hooks. They measure 70mm in length and 22mm in width.

Blue Chalcedony is a rare variety of Chalcedony and a member of the Quartz family. Its colour can range from a light transparent blue to an opaque sky blue. The Chalcedony available on the market today comes from only one region in Turkey. This area is believed to have been extracting Blue Chalcedony since 2500 B.C. In fact, the name Chalcedony is derived from the name of the ancient sea port of Chalcedon, now known as the city of Kadikoy, Turkey.

Each piece of jewellery that I make is unique and often one-of-a-kind, though, sometimes I produce items in limited quantities. These earrings are a one-off pair. All of my jewellery is presented in a gift box and includes a hand-written crystal properties information card.
