Black and White patterned scarf.

Shiny black smooth spun merino provides a drape and backdrop for this graphic in monochrome. The pattern is knitted in a fluffy white merino silk cashmere. Stay warm, but not overwhelmed this scarf will fit under your coat or over a lighter layer to look super smart and keep your neck cozy. It is knitted with two luxury, natural yarns that have contrasting textures.
The design was inspired by proportions of black and white found in nature and influenced by the work of Canadian weaver Mackenzie Kelly-Frere who's pattern for weave is shown in my photographs
I created a simple pattern of my own then changed it manually in and out of negative as I was knitting to create tiny changes in colour proportion.
It amuses me that an idea based on disruption results in a rather formal and smart looking graphic!!!
This will please lovers of Black and White.
All patterns for my designs are drawn by hand. I hand push every row working in changes as I go. All casting on, off and sewing in ends is done by my hand also.
Approximately 166cm long and 24cm wide. This scarf is hand washable in cool water and can be steam ironed.
