Unique piece of New Zealand history.
NZ Native Riverwood Timbers are recovered from the depths of New Zealand’s rivers and lakes which were used as highways when transporting logs to sawmills in the late 1800's.
During this process some of the logs sunk and remained submerged where a lack of light and low oxygen preserved the timbers, creating their own special characteristics. Minerals absorbed from the river bed has transformed the timber into a unique range of variable colours. Once milled and dried these timbers are then used to create this stunning product.
Due to being reclaimed river lumber and the natural variations in colours every one of our products is truly unique, no two items will ever be exactly the same.
The ripple of water - the wave pattern represents the rivers where the timber had laid in for the past 100 -150 years.
Hand finished to enhance the natural beauty of this unique timber, then it is polished and sealed with natural tung oil.
Our unique underside design enables the water to flow away from the dish and has feet to protect the counter top.
