Blue/green dichroic glass pendant in silver plated key setting

The beautiful blue/green cabochon on top of the key setting is made from dichroic glass created from metallic oxides.
The term ‘Dichroic‘ is derived from the Greek language and literally means ‘two colours’. Simply put, this means if you hold a piece of dichroic coated glass and look straight through it, you will see different colours than you will see if you look at the dichroic glass at an angle. For this pendant you will see a mixture of green and blue colours.

The dichroic cabochon for this pendant, was hand cut from glass and fired to over 760C in my kiln. This process fuses the glass layers together, creating kiln formed glass.

Each pendant is individually made, so your necklace will be truly one of a kind. Due to it's handmade nature, your necklace pattern may vary slightly from the images posted on my shop. The glass may also have small imperfections and irregularities. This is perfectly normal and should in no way affect the function or life of your item.
