Sgraffito Seed Pod Bowl

Sgraffito (in Italian “to scratch”) - a decorative pottery technique produced by applying layers of underglaze or slip and scratching through the top layer to reveal a lower layer of contrasting clay colour beneath. This piece has been drawn & etched by hand, it is NOT a transfer.

Functional NZ Ceramic Art Series

This black stoneware bowl is handmade, decorated with underglaze and meticulously etched with a seed pod inspired design inside and out featuring nikau, flax, kowhai and banksia. The bowl has then been finished in a clear glossy glaze.

Approximate measurements, H: 7cms x W : 20cms.

Dishwasher safe.
