'The Artful Lodger' x 3 Fine Art Cards
This is a set of 3 cards of an original watercolour painting 'The Artful Lodger - the story of Riroriro and Pīpīwharauroa'
Ideal for the ornithology enthusiast in your life, it shows a Grey Warbler nest that we found hanging in an Akeake in our garden - such a beautiful structure made from grasses, lichen, with feathers and hairs woven through it.
Below the nest, from left to right is a Grey Warbler egg, an olive green Shining Cuckoo egg and feathers from the breast and wing of a Shining Cuckoo.
I was fascinated to read about the relationship between the Grey Warbler - Gerygone igata and the Shining Cuckoo - Chrysococcyx lucidus. Shining cuckoos are brood parasites, laying their eggs singly in nests of Grey Warblers (mainland) and Chatham Island warblers.
The portrait format cards are 148mm wide x 105mm high (A6) and comes with white envelopes which are carefully protected in a cellophane pocket.
These cards are left blank inside so you can write your own personal message and are suitable for a variety of occasions.
The high quality cards are professionally printed on 340gsm, satin coated, premium paper which is obtained from a sustainable source.
