Wool painting of Sand and sea .
Our beautiful New Zealand beaches have inspired me to create this "wool painting" using the needle felting technique . It has been made with 100% Corriedale NZ wool. I have very carefully blended in the colours of the sea, highlighting the tips of the waves with white wool.
This is an original, hand made needle felted 'wool painting' with a design size of 15cm x 18cm.
The framed art work (including cardboard frame) measures 20cm x 25cm.
I have used the technique known as dry felting where the wool fibre are punched into a muslin backing. Free motion machine stitching holds down some of the greenery.
Finally, I have hand embroidered the flowers and plants using wool and yarn, giving it dimension, texture and colour.
This art work has been mounted in a cardboard frame but can be easily dismantled and framed according to your liking.
A great item for a gift or home decoration. Easy to post.
