This one-of-a-kind ocean play-set/ story-telling set is 100% naturally dyed and is made using 100% natural fibres.

Only natural materials have been used, as these natural materials are gentle on the senses and they nourish a connection to the natural world for the developing child, and a sense of belonging. Each piece is just the right size for your little ones fingers, and the play-silk is a sensory delight alone.

Your child will enjoy hours of play with this set, by using their imaginations, you and your little ones will come up with so many stories. This set is also educational, as it will help to develop your child’s language skills while also encouraging them to add to their vocabulary through storytelling and discussion.

With the bag included, it’s perfect for travel, and a wonderful teaching resource. The play silk can also be used separately in many different ways.

This sweet set would make the perfect gift for a child, or even an adult!

This play-set includes:
- Two linen fish,
- An organic cotton jellyfish, complete with naturally dyed merino yarn tendrils,
- A cotton clam shell,
- Linen seaweed,
- A silk starfish,
- A petite play-silk, made from Paj silk is beautifully light and semi-transparent. It has been naturally dyed using an organic indigo vat,
- And an indigo dyed organic cotton carry case with a drawstring.
Play-silk measures approximately 61x61cm. For scale, the largest fish measures 15cm in length.

You may notice some variations in the depth of colour on your play-silk, this is due to the nature of natural dyes, you may find some areas are more saturated than others. I like to think this sets the product apart from it’s synthetically dyed counterparts – and in our studio we believe strongly in embracing serendipity.

Caring for your naturally dyed play-set:

For the play-silk, you may gently hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent and cool iron. Please do not dry clean as the chemicals used will destroy the dyes.

Spot clean your ocean creatures as necessary, with a gentle soap/ detergent, and leave to dry in a well ventilated area in the shade.

Botanically dyed textiles, like all fabrics, will fade over time if left in direct sunlight. Natural dyes are sensitive to citric acids (found in lemons, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes etc) which will ‘bleach’ the fibres.

Please note actual colours may vary. It’s important to note that they may look different on a real product than what you see on your computer monitor. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours and that everyone sees these colours differently. We try to edit our photos to show the products as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual colour may vary slightly from your monitor.
