This necklace features a beautifully rough, yet gracefully shaped, chunk of amethyst, wrapped with silver coloured, non-tarnish artistic wire. The curb-style chain and the clasp are silver plated.

This piece has a natural, rustic feel. The necklace is reversible, and, since the pendant is asymmetrical, each side shows a different face of irregular, translucent amethyst.
Amethyst is purple quartz, a naturally occurring, semiprecious stone. The most valuable amethysts are deep purple or violet – the darker, the better.
The colour of this particular stone is gradated: rich purple at the bottom, fading to mauve at the top. There are a few dark inclusions in the stone, adding to the organic, unrefined look.

The 'Rough Amethyst With Silver' necklace is a one-off design, never to be repeated. There is also a copper version available in my shop here on Felt.

The chain measures 48.2cm, including the clasp, while the amethyst measures 32mm in length, not including the wire baile (hanging loop), and 20mm across. Total length of the pendant, including the baile, is 41mm.
The lobster-claw clasp can be clipped on at any point on the chain, making this necklace easily adjustable.
As with most Whiteleaf Jewellery pieces, the chain can be altered in length; simply leave me a message in the 'notes to seller' field when you check out of Felt, stating the length you would like.

Donated by Whiteleaf Jewellery – earthy, eclectic adornments for nature lovers.
