Huia Feather Pendant - Hand Forged Sterling Silver

This Huia feather has been created from sterling silver and has a delicate feather texture hammered onto the surface. The Huia tail feather markings of black with a white tip have been recreated by applying an oxidising solution to the upper part to make the silver black, and leaving the bottom of the feather shiny and bright. The black section has been lightly polished to highlight the feather texture a little, and reveal a little of the shiny silver at the edges.

The feather is not 3-dimensional, but the imprinting does give the slight illusion that it is. It is a nice size - not too dainty: 54mm high, including the quill, and 16mm wide. Simple half loop bail on the reverse of the quill. The back has only abstract feathering and is stamped 925 for sterling silver.

I have put this onto a longish chain - please see final picture for how this looks being worn. If you prefer a different chain length, just message me - I can easily change it. Simple spring ring clasp. I have also given the chain and clasp an oxidised finish, but if you prefer shiny, just let me know.

All components are solid sterling silver.
Feather: 54mm high x 16mm wide.
Chain: 73cm (29") long.
