Kintsugi Ironbark
This lidded box is made from ironbark wood and is the second piece I have done with this Kintsugi technique. This received a second at the 2019 Royal Easter Show Art competition and Gallery. More photos available with email enquiry
The process of making it.
I have turned the form and then by using the art of controlled breaking and then putting it back together with a contrasting medium which is normally gold in my case I went with a white resin and then returned with a wall thickness of 2.5mm and finished with liming wax and then with polyurethane.
