Rough Amethyst With Copper: rustic, wire-wrapped amethyst pendant on copper-coloured chain – one of a kind

This necklace features a beautifully rough chunk of amethyst, wrapped simply with copper wire. It is hung on an iron based, copper coloured, curb style chain.

'Rough Amethyst With Copper' has a natural, rustic feel. The combination of warm copper and rich purple is alluring.
The necklace is reversible, and, since the pendant is asymmetrical, each side shows a different face of irregular, translucent amethyst, bound by the single strand of copper wire.
Amethyst is purple quartz, a naturally occurring, semiprecious stone. The most valuable amethysts are deep purple or violet: the darker, the more valuable.
The colour of this particular stone is gradated: luscious purple at the bottom, fading to almost clear at the top.

This necklace is a one-off design, never to be repeated.

The chain measures 42.7cm, including the clasp, while the amethyst measures 27mm lengthwise at its longest point, and 25mm across. Total length of the pendant, including the wire-wrapped baile (hanging loop), is 36mm. The necklace is lighter in weight than it may look, and is easy to wear.
