Madhubani Fish - Original painting
Madhubani art | Original : Acrylic on handmade paper | A4
The 'Madhubani' style of painting takes its name from the Madhubani region in India's northern state of Bihar. The images depicted in this art form are visually striking and painted in bright colours and detailed patterns.
Usually, madhubani art has religious subjects, telling stories of Hindu deities. Gaps between the figures were filled with brightly coloured trees, flowers, birds and geometric patterns. In this artwork, I have painted one of the most commonly used motifs in Madhubani art - the fish!
