Big Bunny's Skyscraper Sunflowers

Skyscrapers are a classic giant yellow sunflower, great fun for kids - and those of us who are big kids! Their cheerful faces will happily peer over fences and follow the sun. They can reach 3.5m tall, and the huge heads produce heaps of seed.

Choose a sunny spot that’s free from wind and plant 1cm deep and 30cm apart, after all risk of frosts has passed. You can also start them in pots inside. Stake or tie back to a fence as they grow (they’re prone to blowing over) and make sure to feed and water regularly and generously for real giants!

Let the main flower head mature if you want the seeds, or nip it out if you’d like lots of smaller flowers.
