Vintage watches - fascinating mechanical steampunk marvels, delicate tiny cogs and wheels and lovely geometric shapes.
The focal of this necklace is a vintage watch movement, 23mm across, with original rubies still in place in steel plates dappled with engraving known as Damascening. The movement is set into an antiqued brass bezel 30mm in diameter with a smooth flat back.
The movement is mounted with a luminous faceted labradorite stone set into a bezel fashioned from a vintage watch part. The colour of labradorite is very special - irridescent silver flashing electric blue. Brass cogs contrast with the steel and a row of original rubies is embedded in the top plate.
The chain is a good quality brass in a 3 x 4 mm cable link.
