Stella Maris Rosary, Our Lady Star of the Sea - Rosary Necklace

This handmade Catholic rosary has pale blue Swarovski® crystal pearls for the Hail Mary beads, and silver pewter shells for the Our Father prayer beads. The loop of this full-size rosary is long enough to enable it to be worn as a necklace.

Our Lady Star of the Sea (Stella Maris) is one of the Virgin Mary's names. Stella Maris is seen as a sign of hope and as a guiding star for Christians, especially those who love the oceans of the world - but equally as much for those who "sail the seas of life".

The pearls are linked into the rosary by hand with silver-plated rosary wire, and the shell beads are wire-wrapped to give extra strength where needed. This rosary will last for many years of prayer.

The center medal is known as the Miraculous Medal of Our Lady, and has her monogram surrounded by 12 stars and the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart at the bottom on the obverse side. Both the blue enameled crucifix and center medal are silver pewter made in Italy.

Under the name Stella Maris, the Virgin Mary is believed to intercede as a guide and protector of those who travel or seek their livelihoods on the sea. This would also be a lovely wedding rosary for anyone traveling or marrying near the sea, or with a special affinity for the oceans of the world.
