Black Onyx
“Stone of Self-Mastery”
Chakra(s): Root, Solar Plexus and Third-Eye
Like other black stones, the black onyx gemstone is a grounding stone, believed to keep a person firmly grounded to reality, and protecting him from internal imbalances and outward negative energies. Besides balancing excessive passion and excitement, the black onyx stone is also thought to neutralize negative emotions and mental stresses, and stave off external negativity at the same time. Hence, black onyx makes a powerful charm both for self-mastery and self-protection.

A Japa mala or mala (Sanskrit:माला; mālā, meaning garland) is a set of beads commonly used by Yogis, Hindus and Buddhists. Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This practice is known in Sanskrit as japa. Malas are typically made with 18, 27, 54 or 108 beads.

Om is a sound and a symbol which is rich in meaning and depth. It represents the divine in each of us, as well as our interconnectivity. It reminds us that we have the ability to move past our physical and mental states of consciousness and connect with the divine – both in ourselves and others. In its essence, Om represents the sound of divinity in all things in the past, present and future.

The OM can sometimes get caught on a loose knit top, if you do not wish to have the OM charm I can remove it or swap it out for another charm. However I like to think of the Om snagging on my clothes every once in a while are a little cosmic reminder to slow down and be more present in the moment! :)

To protect the longevity of your mala remove before sleeping, while bathing or swimming.
The red dye in these wooden beads is quite strong and may rub off on white apparel to begin with, avoid getting wooden beads wet. The red will darken over time to a beautiful deep hue as the beads absorb the skins natural oils leaving you wilt beads that grow more beautiful as time marches on.

All my malas are made in an environment of peace and harmony, each strand is lovingly created by me and infused with positive energies.

-Namaste-
