I am the Archaeologist, Part 3 of a series of book necklaces created from a salvaged vintage Spanish leather bag. As the story has it, this bag was carried around the world by an archaeologist during the 1950s. This particular piece of the sumptuous aged leather has been selected for the tiny stitching holes left from where the bag once held together.

A flap covers my pages and secures with a black leather thong, which wraps around me and ties up on my back.

Many tales live within my fibers. I am filled with hand torn, tea-stained sketching paper made in Germany by Hahnemuhle, who have been making paper since 1547. Hand stitched with Irish linen thread, it is complimented by blue & cream striped head and tail bands.

Measuring 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm, and 12 inches long, I am a durable memoir in the making; perfect for travelling, urban, country or beyond. You may even unknowingly return me to where I have already been…
