Carnelian beads in a rich, dark shade of orange are topped by antiqued-silver coloured, cone-shaped caps, and hung from silver-plated ear-wires.

‘Carneole’ is simply another name for carnelian — as is 'cornelian'. Carnelian is a semiprecious stone, a variety of chalcedony, and its colour is usually orange, ranging from pale to very dark. Hot wax does not stick to carnelian, so in Roman times it was frequently used in signet rings for stamping a hot wax seal on documents.

The 'Carneole' earrings measure 56mm from top to bottom. The carnelian dangles are 25mm tall, including the wire-wrapped loop at the top, and the bead-caps are 10mm wide at their widest point.
The ear-wires are brass based and are without nickel. However, if you would prefer stainless steel, silver plated ear-wires, just leave a message in the 'notes for whiteleaf' field that will appear when you check out of Felt. The stainless steel ear-wires will shorten the length of the earrings by 4-5mm.

Keeping the earrings hanging, rather than jumbled up in a jewellery box, will help to ensure that the ear-wires do not get opened or bent by other jewellery pieces pushing against them.
