In her Auckland micro macramé jewellery studio, with a peaceful view of the garden, Yoko has the perfect retreat from her busy life as a mother of four. She is drawn to the philosophies of Buddhism, Shinto, and Yogic practices like Asana and mantras (Kiaton), and just as these practices encourage focus, patience, and spiritual connection, she finds a similar sense of mindfulness, balance, and flow in creating macramé patterns. She strives to make each piece with intention. "To me, each of my creations is like a flower or herb I carefully nurture in my garden. When they find their new owner, I hope they bring joy, healing, and love, blossoming in ways that enrich their life."
