Hi Felt Viewers,

My name is Rosalyn Vitualla.

I started Missy’s Room (a second hand clothing business, focusing on quality women’s dresses) in Wellington in 2005. My first shop was at the top of Constable Street in Newtown, then I moved to the Basin Reserve. In 2008 I moved the business to central Cuba Street. I currently have two stores 20 meters apart from each other on Cuba Street.

Missy’s Room still has a focus on second hand items (dresses, blouses, skirts, shoes and costume jewellery), while Vintigo not only stocks a range of high end second hand dresses, blouses and skirts, mid range jewellery and art, but also stocks a new range of dresses that I am making. These dresses are predominantly made from vintage fabric and as such are limited to one, two or sometimes three dresses only. I love fabric, so sometimes I see new fabric that I must have too. The resulting dresses are still very limited in number (usually about 5 dresses).

I love dresses, they are my life. When I was young I always wore hand-me-down clothes (not by choice) and my dream was, when I grew up, to have a new dress to wear. I now have so many I don’t know what to put on in the morning. Over the last eight years I have bought and sold thousands of dresses through my business, and now I feel the focus must be turned to creating them.

The range is a developing one, with eight current styles to choose from. I am sewing in the shop and at home nearly everyday to keep up with demand. Please note that the dresses are made according to standard New Zealand sizing.

Thanks for your support.
