I am an Irish born Decorative Artist who originally trained as a Nurse, but was always interested in Design.
I started Decorative Arts whilst living in Boston Condominium, lightening a dark stained kitchen with no natural light source. That was a success, so went onto the living room walls (painted with a paint that had crushed egg shells in it that came alive with wall lighting), dolls houses, old bits of furniture people in the neighbourhood were throwing out, and anything that didn't move.
The kids got used to the colour of a room changing between the time they left and came home from school, and paint cans left all over the house and any potential container holding brushes soaking in water and it has been great to see what they picked up while growing up, reflected in their own homes..
On to New Zealand and continued painting, gilding and doing decoupage work, getting work in NZ House and Gardens for one commission in Taupo.
I love French Country and Scandinavian furniture and believe that there is a new life hiding in every piece of furniture
