Our venture started back on June 1st 2013 when I welcomed Zara Frances into my world.

As a single parent, not knowing what to expect it was an overwhelming feeling being given the chance to be a mother to a beautiful little girl aka “Candy”. While it was not my ideal situation bring Zara into this world without her Daddy involved, it was a true blessing to be given this chance to become a mum!

Becoming a mother is truly one of the greatest feelings in life (I am sure it is also to become a Dad), something just switches the moment they are given to you on your chest. It’s an incredible feeling, love at first sight, a powerful moment. It has to be one of the best moments in life and thankfully I have experienced it.

Deciding to take 3 months of work, which quickly became 9 months of pure pleasure; it was time to return to work. Unfortunately my return was different to how I had imagined. Being part of the same business for 19 years managing staff on a day to day base, I thought how hard could it be with a baby in the mix!

To put a long story into a short I hit the wall and was diagnosed with post natal depression. It’s not an illness that a lot of us like to take ownership for, however it’s real and it can happen to the best of us. I believe it’s not a time to lock and block everyone from your life, rather find that someone to support you during this time. The outcome is better than you could imagine and yes I truly believe it makes you a better person. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and share my experiences with you so you can learn from someone.

With this I resigned from the best company and job in the world, one that was part of my life for 18 years. Not sure what I really wanted to do or where to from here its lead us to our new venture launching our very own label “Candys Floss”. It provides us the opportunity to shop and bring you beautiful princess clothes, as well as create and share Zaras favourite taggie blanket “Candy’s Fluffy which are handmade with love. And most importantly I get to spend every day with Zara.
